After Hali’s piano lesson this morning, we swung by the house to check out the paint sample and give the painters the go ahead:

I wish y’all could have smelt it! All that cedar! I love it soooo much! It is just SO gorgeous!
I can’t believe I am as excited about the beautiful wood on the porch ceiling as I am, but I seriously wanted to cry and start hugging the men who were there working on it. But I didn’t want to frighten them. Or have them walk off the job site. Because they are doing such a lovely job, that would be bad.
When I was a little girl, my grandpa ran a lumbar yard and I used to love the smell of it and I always equate cedar with my grandpa now.
We are really making fast progress on this house and it’s so exciting!
